The Deputy Commissioner,

All Regional Offices,

Sub –   Helping the victims of Flood affected people in Jammu & Kashmir- reg.

This is to bring to your kind notice that KVS State BS&G has been organising many activities through the uniformed youth of Scouts and Guides, for all round development of individuals thereby making them useful citizens of our Motherland.
One of the aims of Scouting is to improve the standard of our future citizenship in “Replacing Self with Service” as citizenship has been defined “active loyalty to the Country”. This is achieved by doing “Service to others”, through the motto “Be Prepared”. This duty of service for others through “Good Turns” is one to which scouts & guides rise with fullest enthusiasm.
It is shocking to hear about the Natural calamity that occurred in the State of Jammu & Kashmir, which made hundreds of people to lose their valuable lives and thousands of people became homeless.  This is high time our Scouts & Guides help the victims of the Natural calamity through the service of Good Turns. They can do so by raising funds to help the victims serving the community and motivating the public and creating awareness to help the victims of the Natural calamity.

In this regard you are requested to instruct the Principals of KVs under your jurisdiction to involve Scouts and Guides and their Adult Leaders in helping the Victims of flood affected people in Jammu & Kashmir.
A campaign by all the Scouts & Guides and their Adult Leaders may be conducted  before 15th October 2014 and the funds raised from all Vidyalaya shall be sent to Regional Office concerned within a period of 10 days after the fund raising.
Funds may be raised without compulsion and it is purely voluntary to donate.

Then Regional office should send the collected amount to the State Secretary KVS Hqs New Delhi in a single Draft. The Draft   should be in favour of ”KVS STATE ASSOCIATION OF SCOUT & GUIDE FUND” payable at New Delhi, latest by 30-10-2014, so that the same amount may be send to The Prime Minister Relief Fund” by this office.

A brief Regional report of the Campaign with photographs is also solicited. You may please send a copy of the report with supporting photographs to this office and to the Editor, BS&G Monthly magazine, 16, M.G. Marg, I.P. Estate, New Delhi- 110002 & email to pro@bsgindia.org & socskvs@gmail.com .
